Based on Amherst Island’s Wemp’s Bay in wintertime, just before the lake freezes over, this piece is a meditation on longing to speak to someone who has died.

Torn pieces from the first letter I wrote to my partner after his death are incorporated into this painting. Releasing it into the world is part of my healing.
